Curriculum

DasArts offers a question-based study programme that allows students to gain specific artistic competencies, outlined at the beginning of the study during the intake procedure.

The curriculum consists of four study semesters with collective formats, such as Blocks and Contextuals, and a wide range of individual study activities, which demand that the student is present at DasArts on a regular basis.

Autumn Semester

Every student commences his/her study in the Autumn Semester (September- February). The Autumn Semester starts with an Intake, during which the student gives a a definition of individual study aims and draws up a study plan, outlining his/her current situation, artistic motivation and the specific goals that motivated his/her DasArts application.
During the Autumn Semester, the student participates in a collective Block: a theme-based group programme that lasts ten weeks and is the most important part of a Autumn Semester. After this ten-week programme, the student reacts with ‘performative responses’ and written reports.

Spring Semester
During the Spring Semester (March-August), the student carries out an Individual Trajectory or Master Proof based on his or her previously submitted concept.
For a period two weeks (usually at the  beginning of this semester) a collective Contextual takes place, a collective two week programme designed by the students in which they contextualize issues relevant to their practice.
During the Spring Semester workshops are organised and feedback sessions take place. Internal showing of individual projects are given, sometimes followed by a public presentation.
