Everyone who registers as a student or to take a course at the Amsterdam School of the Arts is obliged to pay tuition or course fees. The tuition fees vary, depending among other things on the programme or course you will be enrolling in, and on whether or not you are from a country within the European Economic Area (EEA).

Due to changing government policies and declining funds for higher education the AHK will have to raise tuition fees in upcoming years for students from outside of the EEA and for study programmes that are not funded by the government in order to meet the costs of education.

The tuition fees for students who already graduated and who want to follow a second study programme might also rise in 2011-2012 due to changing government policies.

Tuition fees 2010-2011

Full-time study: bachelor's and master's programmes:

• for students from within the European Economic Area, Switzerland or Surinam and for UAF refugee students: €1,672   
• for students from a country outside of the EEA:
  €3,000 (full-time bachelor's programmes)
  €4,000 (full-time master's programmes)

Part-time bachelor's programmes
€1,500 (EU/EER, Surinam, Switzerland and UAF refugee students)
€2,500 (non-EEA-students)

Part-time master's programmes (Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design and Education in Arts)

Tuition fee loan
EU/EEA students who are not entitled to full study grants (in Dutch: studiefinanciering) for a Dutch course in higher education can apply for a loan to pay their tuition fees. This loan is known as loan tuition fees (in Dutch: collegegeldkrediet) and is paid monthly. You repay the sum you borrowed after your study.
