Space between laboratorium

May 25-June 2, 2007

The Space Between Lab was an intensive eight-day laboratorium, co-hosted by Michelle Teran and Sher Doruff. It took place in the Theaterschool in the studios of Dance Unlimited Amsterdam, The Waag Society for Old and New Media, the streets of Amsterdam and data space. The lab focused on exploring the relation of the artist, performer and spectator to urban topologies of space: the private and the public, enclosed and open spaces as well as networked connectivity. The aim was to facilitate and challenge young artists to engage with fresh conceptions of space, place and non-place, taking a radical empirical approach to relations between technologies and the body - focusing on the experience of experience itself.
